Removing factory decals from structures | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a Lionel Water Tower that I want to remove the "Lionelville" lettering from the tank. What is the best way to remove the lettering without damaging the tower? From what I see looking at the tank, the lettering does not look like a decal that was placed on it and almost looks factory printed on the surface.

Ez off would work or scale coat paint remover. Remember to use a small amount in an inconspicuous place.

Thanks. I looked up Ez Off and see that it comes in both spray and a squeeze goo form for oven cleaning. Which one is better for this particular job?
