Has anyone ever dissasembled one of those 2 button uncoupling/operating track controllers and fit the buttons and guts into thier control panel? We have a small layout and I would like to conserve as much space on the panel as possible, the whole box would take up a lot of room on our panel, not to mention stick out like a sore thumb. It seems simple enough if I can reproduce the holes and posts that hold the contacts together. Thoughts?

Cool, thanks for the replies guys, great info!
I am pretty sure that you can do this with a DPDT momentary switch. If you are interested I will test it tomorrow and provide the wiring diagram.

That would be great! For now I just mounted the stock button beside the transformer. I just thought it would look better and take up less real estate in the the main panel. Thanks a lot!
Denny is correct. I have a pushbutton for the uncouple and use a DPDT momentary toggle for the unload (I couldn't find a DPDT pushbutton). No relays.
Hello Jason
I have edited this response a few times and am sorry for any confusion it might have caused in the meantime. I have tested out the DPDT momentary switch and it will work.
Maybe someone will be kind enough to do a nice drawing based on the below description. This will work with either the old UCS or the new Fastrack OTC.
Conversion from OTC to UCS:
Fastrack color Black is post one on the UCS
Fastrack color Green is post two on the UCS
Fastrack color Red is post three on the UCS
Fastrack color Blue is post four on the UCS
Internal track connections:
Black is connected to Ground by way of the outside ground rails
Green is connected to the left control rails
Red is connected to the power source; external or track power
Blue is connected to the right control rails and to the coil
I will label the lugs on the DPDT momentary switch as follows:
1 2 3
4 5 6
1 - Red
2 - Green
3 - Black
4 - Red
5 - Blue
6 - Red
Throwing the toggle to the Right will Uncouple.Throwing the toggle to the Left will Unload.
Cheers
Denny

Awesome Denny! That's a great idea! Takes up a lot less room too. I might give that a try when I get the chance! Thank yo so much.
