Even though the powered unit , is just 10 inches, and dual can motors , will it pull total
of 13 cars, ( non pwrd , A, and 12 car consist), better, than current Lionel SD-9 diesel,
with the 1 motor, -- would like to lenghten, my engine (look) on the O31 curves track, plus want something different

I've got the AA marron pensy set..it has frequently pulled 11 cars{that's all we had-lol} on 0-36 curves and there was a tad of wheel slip...two of the traditional cars were the heavy 0-27 ones and my son's piggybank car had about $2.00 in small sized change in it too{alot of pennies/nickels}. They did pretty well, but in they're defence our track was dirty. I have a car cleaner now and the wife and daughter sre out tonight, so it's just the boys...thinkin time for a clean track retest! We've aquired a few more cars since then so I can report back with current results...and my son loves to pile them on{cars}. Last run was 0-36 curves with 2 10" straights for an oval, and the end car was a car away from touching the locomotives...not very prototypical- lol...we were also running 4 of the Peep passenger cars then too.
The problem I have had with BEEFs is traction, not power. I have an A-B-B-A set that is all four powered and it pulled a lot better (about 50 cars) when I added 4 or 5 ounces to each loco.

I can add weight to the cars we sent down the track, at Cub Scouts
How you put weight on Loco,??
