Wired the double crossover switch and all 4 switches worked fine.  Then did a test run with an engine.  Engine died on the isolated crossover.  My understanding that the crossover is supposed to remain isolated.  I don't see anywhere to add separate power source.  Can the regular track power be used?  I could add the Atlas O power clips to all 4 tracks from the for different blocks or runs?  I also didn't see any grey wire.

My understanding the double crossover came with everything needed to run.  Or does the 4 switch machines need a separate power source my MTH Z1000 and then the tracks on the DblX does not have to be isolated and Run with the regular track power on the MTH Z4000?

Maybe slightly off-topic, but @AGHRMatt on an MTH Proto 3-2 loco: if you set the switch to the 3-rail position, doesn't that connect the grounds internally?  Is there any way to ground the driving wheels of a steam loco so equipped, or are they doomed to "float" in isolation for all time?

Not on steam. The wheels remain isolated; the hot switches from the right to the center. We tried de-isolating a tender by reversing some of the wheels and it wasn't really effective.
