Ross Double crossover switch

One thought I had that didn't die of loneliness is the closure rails that form the two isolated triangles off the diamond. Those probably need to be tied to common as some MTH 3-2 steam locomotives could lose the common connection while traversing the section (one side of the locomotive is grounded and one side of the tender is grounded).

If the inside of the crossover diamond is metal, there should be a screw on the underside.  You are supposed to attach a center rail power wire to the diamond using this screw.  Did you do that?

Maybe slightly off-topic, but @AGHRMatt on an MTH Proto 3-2 loco: if you set the switch to the 3-rail position, doesn't that connect the grounds internally?  Is there any way to ground the driving wheels of a steam loco so equipped, or are they doomed to "float" in isolation for all time?

Not on steam. The wheels remain isolated; the hot switches from the right to the center. We tried de-isolating a tender by reversing some of the wheels and it wasn't really effective.

even Ross-Ready switches need to be powered at points and wired for non-derailing.

you need the relay to even with the DZ-2500Cs i believe my DBC has two relays.

Bob Bartizek, It does have a metal screw.  I assume of the 4 rails the center rail which is always powered would do.  Or should the other 3 all should be attached.  I will still need the DZ1008 or DZ1000 correct.
