almost ready for snow duty!

in my continuing saga that only I seem to comment on, I began the task of glazing the snowplow cab with (gasp) real glass.    Yes, I have slide glass, a scribe and my handy accessories: straight edge, marker and olive oil.

What?   Olive oil????!    Yes, it changes the surface tension allows the scribe to cleanly score the glass.    The sound is like a sheet tearing and once done, snap the piece and voila.    Now, I have yet to get a squeegee that fits.

Kyodo Snowplow? 

Slide glass?  Kind of thick.  Why not use slip cover glass for slides?

I cut and glued all but one pane in tonight.   Tricky work if I do say so; perhaps the thin plastic is easier, but there is something rewarding about the work and knowing its real glass.

I agree personal reward is often the driving factor in what we do with our models. Nice to see you making the effort to pursue various skills Brad.
