"she knocked over my Q2 off the coffee table on to the floor"....?????
Good grief, Charlie Brown! What was the Q2 doing on a coffee table???? You mean you've got a coffee table layout for O3R???? Wholly Mackinaw!! Gotta see that!!
So, was this the final act of 'the play'?
All kidding aside, I know how bummed one can be over accidents of this type. Many of US have been there. As they say...'No good deed goes unpunished!'
Here's hoping you have better days ahead in 2014.

Possibly because your subject really didn't have anything do with 3-Rail SCALE MODELING?
Plus 'O' is a rail gauge not a scale...it does not necessarily speak to the scale of the units running on it.
The real lesson to be learned from this is that there are too many dogs around these days.
You should be happy it was only on a coffee table. What is that...about 2 feet off the ground.
My wife has a friend(?) that has a cat that we watch quite often it seems. I have a vast collection of die cast military models that I keep in the basement on shelves. I pretty much keep this section of basement blocked off from this cat but one day he got in and climbed to the highest shelf (about 6 feet high) and knocked one of the models off. Well, it faired a lot worse than your loco. A good $200.00 dollar model bites the dust. When I told her she didn't even flinch. Never said a word about paying for it. Never even made an offer. I wouldn't have accepted money anyway. I'm not that kind a person. Accidents do happen and I like the cat. But, now the cat is banned from coming over and so is she.

The real lesson to be learned is that there are too many elderly ladies near our trains.
The way I read the initial post, the old lady knocked the locomotive off the coffee table while playing with the dog, which would suggest there are too many old ladies rather than too many dogs ... or maybe too many old ladies with dogs.
What, me worry?
Do not let un-qualified people or animals view or come in contact with your trains. They will either say stupid things, make stupid sounds to drive you crazy-OR-break and destroy something. At least thats how I feel about it.Nick
What is all that powder and grime all over the engine?
Flea Powder.

No, too many unwanted cats. One of my train friend's cats swiped 4 of his cars off the layout and 3 ended up broken up pretty bad. It was his wife's cat, she let it in the train room by mistake. He's looking for a huge dog now.

My dog views my trains all the time and she causes no harm> I run a test loop on the floor and there's been a H7 sitting on it for a week and she doesn't seem to bother it but my dog has a years worth of car payments invested in training so better statement would be, dont let poorly trained animals or people near your stuff
It's not the dog or cat's fault. The animals don't know any better but the human is suppose to!
Bingo! You got it, Chris.

Sorry to hear and see that!
I know I've been guilty of bumping a few of mine...
My cat Shadow sits by my side and watches the trains with me. The only engine that he has ever tried to go after was my F40 PH Caterpillar engine and then he runs beside it on the floor. it is quite comical the way he acts. He watches every other engine run but that cat is his favorite.
other than knocking a few figures over or moving the Rocks around the river bank he has not destroyed anything at all and he loves the trains
Im not blaming the animals..I never had a problem with them with my trains..now my r/c race boats the cats love to chew on my attenas...
ok repair work almost done...was going to re use the old sides and had them done...but changed my mind..cut out new pieces...instead of using autobody fillers i use jb weld as the filler...the gray side was was the old piece i was going to use..but deside to make new one piece side skirts....

I resemble that remark!

well I had repainted it with dupont automotive base coat clear coat urethane paint..Im maybe going to paint it with Imron or epoxy paint...I'll let you know begining of next week....I like imron because its very strong paint,,that whats on semi's...but the down side is ,slow dry time and very toxic....epoxy is subpose to be strong too..faster drytime and not much in the toxic dept...Im going to do a info check on the epoxy paint..never sprayed that stuff..
