Well, I - we - are still waiting (4 years+, I do believe) for the NYC R-2 freight electrics. I've e-mailed...no luck. But it's still in the catalogue, last time I looked, so I assume enough orders. Other things have been announced, built and shipped in that time.
This has stopped me from pre-ordering another item or two that appealed to me.
It's an unpleasant experience - no loco, but no cancellation. So until one or the other...no more 3rd Rail for me.
(Except ERR electronics - ordered some this week.)

There are not enough orders for the NYC / CSS&SB electrics at this point. A number of locomotives have been announced , but, until sufficient orders are received they will not be put in to production. Some, such as the B&O EL-3 and 5 locomotives have been removed from the reservation list due to insufficient orders.
Others are still on the reservation list. This is due to the fact that there are a reasonable number of reservations, but not enough to move forward with production. In the case of the B&O EL locomotives 20 reservations says it will not sell 100 or so units. If there are 40-50 or so reservations then the locomotive will most likely stay on the reservation list for some time period.
This is truly a niche item. It would be a surprise to me if Scott could sell 100. I am very fond of Santa Fe but have no interest in this locomotive, in any of its versions.

Tom, I agree though those that want them would probably pay figuring it would be a 1 time brass run.
I would be interested in this set if it came with a "King Fish" B-unit.
I'd be in for a set! This is a historical set regardless whether people consider them "pretty" or not.
I bet Scott could sell a couple of the Santa Fe chair cars that Pecos Rive Brass made years ago... In numbers similar or higher than the recent army cars..... Maybe?

Now is the time to get this rolling!
I'm in for a set. I like odd, one of a kind stuff!

Scott, what do you need to get this rolling?
