I don't know the exact process since I haven't looked at that particular car/set. However, I can for sure answer the question of the possibility, the answer is yes! You can remove the shell, typically a few screws on the underside of the car.
From the Passenger Car Parts Breakdown, it appears there are two screws, one at each end that would release the roof of the car.
Thanks. I have never used breakdown lists (I am new to the hobby!). I cannot tell if I have to remove the shell first and then separate the roof from it. Or if the roof can be removed directly. I do not see any visible screws on the ends.
I want to add seated passenger figures to the Santa Fe passenger car 6-84719. Can the shell be removed and does anyone know how to do it? Thanks.
Rob....this is certainly not a 3-rail scale topic. Rather, it is a topic about adding passenger figures to a semi-scale/traditionally sized passenger car therefore we have moved it to the appropriate Lionel forum. PLEASE make sure to post in the most logical category/forum based upon the main topic of the post.
