I saw them tested in February. Now they are in service by MARC, I just saw one just now from my office window, easily identifiable by super bright LED headlights/ditch lights, and a huge X vent screen from top to bottom on the sides towards the back. Pretty cool looking.

It is always exciting to see new passenger power. In spite of many comments I have read elsewhere, these are attractive and powerful looking locomotives. Look forward to seeing one in person.
Looking at the FRONT of this new Engine, that Engineer had better hope He (or She) never hit anything at a crossing !!!

Not bad looking and really long. It looks to me that the engineer sits much further back than the large windshield would make it appear.

NO. NJT is in the process ofPurging their fleet of F40's and GP40P's.

The Dual Power units are being purchased and extensively used.

Ready for Siemens Charger 44 in O scale-MTH-Williams
They picked some up for the Amtrak Surfliner out here in Southern California. Being in California, they had the optional rear spoiler installed. 
OK, its an airfoil to match the Surfliner hi-level coaches.

As of today, EMD GP40PH-2s are still running on the Bergen County and Main Lines on NJT. Metro North (NJT pool) is still running F40PH-2CATs, "West of Hudson" units.

Easy. There's plenty of space within the shell for either TMCC, Proto-3, or DCC boards, plus a decent speaker or two. The locomotive is about the size of a P42.

Amtrak's 50th anniversary is 05/01/2021,good time for heritage paint scheme on the new Siemens Charger engines - hopefully there will be O,HO, and N scale by then.
