hi im trying to put together a 12x8 layout . i tried to connect 2 main lines one inside with 036 curves and switches and outside 048 i cant get the ends to meet up . i tried scarm free trial cant do it there, do i need to purchase the package to get full benefit and would that include a section that automatically fits everything together?

No, the trial version is fully functional for 100 or fewer pieces. If you attached your SCARM file, I’ll take a look and see if I can help. If you don’t want to post it, you can email it to the address in my profile.

Wayne, I probably misunderstand your post. But if you fit all the tracks together snugly, you'll see what needs to go into the empty space. If the two unconnected tracks are unaligned, use trial and error until they are aligned.
Sometimes they don't meet up exactly on a screen, but real life leaves some wiggle room.
Depending on the track type that variance may be small (snap type) or large (tubular); the screen variance is quite narrow (needed for Z scale, N, etc I think)
You can lower the tolerance somehow if I recall, but eyeballing has always been plenty good imo. Heck track production variances have caused me more issue.
i ll do trial and error i thought scarm would do the math and fit it all together thanks
This cheat sheet might help.
