Have never done any scratch building but would like to attempt a rolling lift bridge in O scale. Want to replicate bridge on the NY&LBRR at the Manasquan River.

Question 1-I’m familiar with structural pieces by Plastruct, are there other major brands?

Question 2-Does anyone offer premise plate girders in various sizes & lengths? If not, how about angle pieces w/ rivet detail?

Question 3-Anyone offer iron latticework like you see on NY ELL?

Question 4-The drawings I have are for a single track bridge, what is the typical centerline distance between 2 tracks on a bridge?

Hope to make it operational but is probably beyond my abilities. Feel free to tell me I’m nuts to attempt this! Thanks for any responses.

If you go on YouTube, there's a gentleman named Richard Carnegie who built a model of the Smith Falls bascule bridge using what looks like Plastruct.

His bridge is HO, and it's single track, but I'm also a NY&LB fan, and I used to ride over all three of their bascule bridges when I lived in Lakewood, so I'm very familiar with the bridge you want to model, and the Smith Falls bridge looks like a single track version of yours.

If you can log in to YouTube you might be able to ask him about what he used, and how he did it. If you find out, let me know, I want to build a model of the one in Morgan.
