Hello all; I have noticed that some Fastrack rail ends at connection points are a bit sharp and at times slightly uneven. I do not want to damage my traction tires on these sharp ends. Is it reasonable to disconnect those tracks and take a few 45 degree passes over the sharp rail ends with a metal file? Then I could vacuum those ends and tracks to remove any metal shavings. Ok idea? Thanks for any suggestions. Craig

I do it all the time.

Thanks for the validation! I feel better about "adjusting" the connection points now. Seems to help engines run smoother over the tracks. Craig
A lot of times you can even out rail joints by just pushing down on the higher rail.
Rather than filing, which will also remove the thin plating, I use a small brass hammer to tap the tops flat. Don’t forget to make sure the inside of your running rail are also flat (as possible).
Like John H stated above, But straighten out the tabs underneath the track first. The turn the rail upside down and hold on a flat surface, with a tool (I use a screwdriver), bend the tabs back down while pushing down on the track from the bottom. You may have to put something under the rail to force it up while pushing down. Like a popcisle stick.
