Short on Locomotive

look for a bad roller wire touching the frame,pinched wire,chaffed wire etc. Could be something more but this is what to check first. Often wires get pinched between the frame and shell during assembly.

Thanks.  That is what I was thinking.

you can also use a digital VOM and use continuity from the roller to any where on the engine frame or ground,if there is a dead short you should read close to 0 ohms with the ohm meter from " roller" to the chassis ground, if there is a short it will show up with the meter! take the reading and let us know how you make out?

I also posted this on the DCS area.  I took the engine back to the store and it is to be sent back to MTH.  I took an ohmmeter and both trucks were shorted.  I was hoping that I could isolate it more but also I figured that both trucks were wired together and I would not be able to isolate it any further..
