I like the H10 and I am not deterred by the minor, and mostly cosmetic issues, attributed to this release which are outweighed by the features offered at this price point. Should Lionel consider another release soon at the same MSRP?

If they added a footboard pilot I would be in.

FWIW. When this locomotive was announced. Ryan and Dave mentioned on their Facebook show that there were a lot of road name possibilities for these, eluding to the fact there may be another production run.
I think another road number of the "Pennsylvania Lines" with the Lines West Tender would interest me. The big tender gives the optical illusion that the engine is bigger. This is the best engine I have purchased in the last two years.

Next run include the roadname NPB (Norfolk Portsmouth Beltline RR) as they owned some H10s in the 50s as the PRR was part owner of the Belt Line.
No. They should get their act together first on the current design. The flaws are only 'minor' because someone took the time to open up the engine to investigate unseated hatches and coupler overheating. Had that not been done folks would have had a dead engine after awhile. I'm certainly not about to open up an engine to check to see if everything is seated properly if I don't notice anything.

I would have liked to see 7688, or just a regular Pennsy version with the large CC2 tender.
D500.....the subject is PRR H10.........

There are more than enough models of the PRR H10, but NO models of NYC H9/H10b locomotives in 3-Rail.

Perhaps a separate posting focused on the NYC version might be more effective in contrast to an already tooled and released engine.....
Well, technically this is probably an H9, and it even says so on the builder's plate.
GRJ .....do you think if Lionel did another release they would actually call it what it is....an H9? I doubt that......I just take solace in the fact that the builders plate states H9......which is correct for at least some road numbers.....!! I think the primary objective is to encourage Lionel to do a second release of this feature laden engine at an affordable price with some (excusable?) compromises on accuracy but hopefully NO compromises on quality.
If they'd up the quality, it is a cool little locomotive. I'd like to see more detail on the boiler, but I do so love all the neat features and great sound.

Agreed!! Even just a couple minor add-ons......(like window glass.....LOL)......can be effected without major re-tooling......just don't up the price, as you normally do, because of a successful first release......
That was a successful release? Gad, I'd sure not want to see a failure! Oh, wait, maybe the Mogul.

I was going to say "successful" with respect to the Mogul but you beat me to it........
Southwest Virginia's Interstate Railroad bought two L1 Mikados and an H10 2-8-0 from PRR in 1941. I have an MTH IRR L1 and would love an Interstate H10 too. https://www.google.com/search?...imgrc=Z9eu9rxWI_JXhM
Do a google search on Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line 2-8-0. In 1954 they had H10s that had been modernized with a platform mounted on the smokebox like a modernized K4.

Responses regarding the H-10 (with a passenger pilot ) say to me that there is a real market for smaller steam power befitting the cramped real estate of most layouts (and I say this looking over my EM-1, "A", Y6b, etc).
Some day, I should live so long, maybe Lionel or MTH will release an affordable Baldwin 2-8-0 like unto that used on the Ma&Pa RR
GunrunnerJohn,
My new Pennsylvania H-10 #1288 runs forward fine, but has sparked several times under the front pilot truck when going backward. My two H-10s: "Pennsylvania Lines #1709" and "Western Allegheny #85" don't spark. There is a large screw on the underside of the two wheel pilot truck with a wire that I believe goes to the smoke unit???
I will take pictures later and post.
Sincerely, John Rowlen
I'd like to see MTH do their beautiful H10 in PS3 with whistle steam.
I’ll take 1 more. “Pennsylvania” with the CC2 tender would be my 1st choice. I went in for 2 on this run plus the set which will ship to me this weekend and I love them. These are fun engines and they run great! So far no issues with the 2 I have.
