The MTH Canadian cylindrical hopper based upon the real ones built by Marine Industries, Hawker-Siddeley, National Steel Car has been made in 1:48th scale and in reduced proportions for O gauge.
They were built between 1970 and 1990.
Many of them are still in service.
Should the people at MTH make that same Canadian 100-ton, 4-bay cylindrical hopper in 1:64th scale?

There's a lot of things MTH should make in S, but I doubt you'll see anything new until products from all the old SHS tooling has been produced...

For a company that seems to be a bit risk averse, I think one would have to demonstrate that there are enough modelers in S interested in the 1970-present era to get them to even consider it.

Only if they make it with out of scale wheel sets and abnormally high bolsters.

There are a lot of other gaps to fill rather than making such a similar car to Lionel's failed attempt.
So I'd say no, not anytime soon.
