I figured with the weather getting nicer, the spring yard sale season is starting. We went to a "community" one this morning hosted by the newspaper, and I found a Weaver double door boxcar, from their station series, for $3! I was going to offer $10, and the lady saw me with it, and said $3. How could I pass that up?

Never had a find, wish I would some day
Technically not a garage sale find, because I bought it at a scale show, but, I was at an HO club open house about 10 years ago. There was a box of "Three Rail Junk" on their sale table. $75.00 got me a pair of 2383 F-3's, in excellent condition, and enough Super O track and switches to build a Super O layout. Including the buss bars!

An 2353 F3 ATSF combo for $200.00. Person wanted 4, but I said I could get a new set from Williams for 2. Started to walk away, and got them for 2. Needed some cleaning. Run with some REA boxes, refers, and TOFC, with some 2400 ATSF passenger cars. My O-31 version of the FAST MAIL, or SF CHIEF.
Never gotten lucky with that, when they advertise garage sales in Craigslist and such and mention trains, when I check them out predictably they think they are selling 'valuable antiques' and the stuff is way overpriced. If I have seen things at good prices, it is usually tinplate track, but since I won't be using that, not worth it (not to mention tinplate is a dime a dozen, literally).
