You could use something like this BigDAWGS Sound Module and record the attached bell sound as one of the sounds.  The bonus is you get two more sound possibilities for additional sounds up to two or three minutes total, depending on the quality of the MP3 file.  For a longer bell sound, just use a simple audio editor and use multiple copies of the bell sound.

i got in touch with ITT Products and after suggesting that his diesel bell was close but a bit too fast and a bit too high pitched, George got back to me about an hour later with a .wav file of the diesel bell slowed down by 10%.  bingo!

no extra charge for the custom sound file, so i've got to give it a shot.  might be a little weak at 1/2 watt for outdoor use, but as long as the sound is right, volume is a solvable problem.

cheers...gary

I have used two of the Radio Shack recording modules.  They are useful, but:

-The tiny, tinny speakers have, like no volume at all.  For a dollar, I replaced them with a pair from a yard sale - vastly better.

-There's no good way to mount the unit without using your ingenuity.  I carved out a wood block, as in an eight grade shop project.

-One of them has stopped working.  It lasted five or six years.
