I bought a mth railking 4-8-2 L3 mohawk mth product number 30-1300-1 about six years ago. I was replacing the smoke wick when poof the main board fried! Seems I had forgot to turn of the track power. So I just set it aside and thought I would get it fixed later. Fast forward six years later. I got it out of the box and decided it was time to do something to get it fixed. I first thought about gutting the electronics and going tmcc/ err co. but after some thought I decided all I needed was a PS5 main board. So surely mth could help. Yes and know. Maybe I could by a cheap engine on the bay and get the parts. So I went to the best source out there for answers. Right here on the DCS forum. A few post later and GGG chimed in and wala for less than a used engine on the bay my mohawk is getting the parts needed to run again. Thanks GGG !!
I wanted ( no offense lee, but you do say you do this a lot.) all the lee willis shelf queener's out there to know. No matter how old, no matter post or pre war, modern day ect. If you want to get your blown up engines working again there is always a way! Thanks to the internet and this forum there is only $$$ that stands in the way as I see it in getting out broken engines fixed!  The way I see it $400 is a lot to spend on a good engine. so just scraping it was never an option. why I waited six years to fix I'll never know, but it is now going to get fixed! So get your queens off the self and get then on your work bench and see just how much fun you will have researching, troubleshooting, and trying to get those engines running again. The satisfaction of doing it yourself can be the best part of the whole experience. Or sending it off to people like GGG or boxcar bill on this forum and having them do it and being able to  enjoying it running on your layout again can be just as rewarding also! Whats old is now brand new again! Thanks again GGG!

Thanks guys for all the positive words. Yes I am happy. I figured I better get the ps2 5volt board before they are hard to find or obsolete. GGG ask for my cab # on the engine so he can install the factory sound file my engine had. This makes me happy also, because I liked that sound file and am glad it can be still installed. Cant wait to get the parts from GGG to get it working.
