I have my first speaker set up with sound by push button for a scene I'm working on. The speaker is a round 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

For those of you with sound, how do you mount the speakers above the layout, in a building or underneath? Are there commercial brackets available? Any information would be great.

Pictures welcome! Thank you, Terry

GRJ concisely sums it up.  You want to put your speaker in a sealed chamber which will dramatically improve the sound volume/quality vs. an open-air mounting.  In addition to spray can lids (which I think are coincidentally 2-1/2"), I've used yogurt cups, laundry detergent screw tops, PVC pipe (shown below), etc.  The key is to seal the gaps between the speaker rim and the chamber.
