Some minor additions to GGD's wood Coaling Tower | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Here are some photos of some minor changes I made to Golden Gates Coaling Tower. The photos show the walkway added to allow access by my "people" to the counterweights that control the coaling chutes.

form created to build replicated GGD's railing spacing.

this is a block of plastic with the rail and posts carved in with a router bit in a drill press and an X-Y table that moves the plastic to be routed in increments of thousand of an inch; the posts are 0.90" high and spaced 0.50" apart.

I added a 1/4" scale ladder cage that opens at the extended landing and the walkway above.

After looking at GGD's new concrete coaling tower and the small concrete one from Lionel, the wooden one just needed a "minor" upgrade
