Sound File on PS 3 2 No smoke | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I was asked to install a PS 3 2 Steam Kit (50-1911) into a 4-8-4 L-3 Mohawk Rail King 30-1497-1. All systems checked out on fire up, Sound, F/R, Smoke, Couplers. Then I installed the newest PS3 sound set from 30-1829-1 (2019) and the heating element does not heat up. Yes the the fan is working. I then tried 30-1652-1 (2014) and no smoke. Then PS 2 30-1558-1 (2010) and still no smoke. Each of the times above I cycled on and off and did reset (Whistle and 5 bells) several times. Tests were in conventional. I then put in a Diesel sound set and now it smokes great just like in the first test. Boards have 4922 on it, if that helps. Boards are from a new steam kit so I am assuming it has the correct Steam chain file.

Any suggestions? Thoughts?

Basically load the correct PS32 steam chain file, then the sound file you want to use. After that factory reset the locomotive with a full DCS system and you'll be good to go.

When loading PS-3 sound files into PS-32 boards DO NOT load PS-3 flash code. Load the appropriate PS-32 flash code for the engine type/smoke type. G
