I have an early MTH Premier cab forward which I have upgraded with ps2. I have a sound file which works with the upgrade but I am less that pleased. The original QSI sound file was much better. When compared with the recent Lionel Cab Forward sound the difference is difficult to believe. Is there a recent sound file upgrade from MTH for the Cab Forward that will compare with the Lionel Cab Forward Sound?

The latest sound file I am aware of is from 2008. Try 20-3347-1 if this is not the file you already installed. I believe thay made three models that year with different cab numbers, but they were all the same sound file.
You also have to make sure you have a sound file for the proper board set, 3V or 5V.
If you put the one in that mrmacher has recomended, I personaly thinks it's a great sound. I just did one and put that same file in and it sounded great you can really hear the air pumps. I'm not a fan of all the Lionel sounds especially the steam. To me thay all have the same chuffing sound. Yeah they have deeper base but they still all sound the same to me.
The DCS loader will not let you put in a 3v file into a 5v board and vise versa. Plus all the upgrade kits now are 3v.
