I have a 3 engine lashup.  MTH 20-20433-1,  20-20418-1, and 20-20374-1.  The new SD80Mac's have nice sound feature however when it's in a lash up the same options aren't available, turning on and off marker lights, inside lights, all extra sound effects, etc.  This is the same case when I have only the 2 Dash 8's together but now it's bugging me.  I'm using DCS version 4.2.  Is this something having the latest version of DCS would take care of or something we all have to live with?

Mike,

The DCS lashup function allows only as subset of features for the lap itself. This is very unlikely to change in any significant way in any future DCS releases.

However, you can adjust member settings for individual engines once the lashup is started up. Simply make a member the active engine, rather than the lashup, change whatever settings you like, and then make the lashup the active engine again.

While this works OK under DCS 4.20, the changed settings tend to stick better under DCS 4.30, since DCS 4.30 has the FSV soft key for lashups. This ensures that changed member settings are saved from startup to startup of the lashup.

This and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!
