I've bought quite a bit from Just Trains in Delaware. Just call and ask for Dave. They ship free over $250 and don't charge tax.
I saw quite a bit of Scaletrax at Just Trains.

I just bought a big haul from Jason's as their prices where about the best. So far they seem nice and helpful and I should have mine early next week.
I looked the world over before deciding on them.
Thanks everyone for the help...I appreciate it.
TexasSP, I saw his prices and they are very good...think I'm going to give him a call.

Take a look at the details on the MTH Website Justrains is great depending on where you are there are many other shops that carry it or can get it in for you.
The layout packages are great ways to order it.
You might want to check out Hikel layouts he custom builds and seems to deal with a lot of Scaletrax, he has the layout designs in the MTH Scaletrax book and is a good source for information and tips on building with Scaletrax.
Good suggestions, all.
Chris:
You going to start weaning them onto fixed pilots and scale wheels.
kj356...great suggestions... thank you.
Hi Matt...yes...yes I am. I have been trying to get them into my 2 rail world but no luck....yet.

I just wanted to update on my order from Jason's trains. While the pricing was good, the rest was not. First you order on the site then call in to pay, no biggie, but a pain to find out what's listed as stock on the site is not necessarily stock.
Next problem, my order doesn't ship and I call almost 2 weeks later to find out where it is. They tell me there was a problem with a couple of pieces and that it shipped a couple of days before my call.
I got no confirmation of shipping, nor any indication of total price and what was actually shipping. When it arrived finally three weeks after my purchase, the packaging was poor to say the least. It was all packed in a card board scaletrax shipping box designed to hold 20 30" scaletrax straights. The order I got was 10 flex pieces, 20 30" straights, 8 O72 and 8 O80. The only protection besides the box, was a a thin layer of newspaper only wrapped around twice. Also no packing list. Not near what I had ordered or needed to start.
Based on this I do not recommend them. I also noticed on their site they suddenly jacked all the scaletrax prices up which is why I went to them in the first place.
I have since placed an order for some #6 switches I need to get started from High Country Hobbies. Hopefully this transaction goes smoother, they have an excellent rating on ebay although I bought it direct from their site.

I've bought a few items from Dave at High County Hobbies. I've been pleased. Good communication.
TexasSP thanks for the update...sorry to hear the experience was not a good one. I noticed the price increase as well on his site, but I have seen the increase elsewhere as well....definetly not a cheap hobby.... Let me know how your experience goes this time around.
Chris
I have a number of 072 curves in new condition if you are interested.
Just to be clear Jason's was very friendly and may well be a great source for an LHS, I just wouldn't recommend them for online/shipping type orders. I did not get burned, it just wasn't optimum by any means.
Glad to also hear the good feedback on High Country.
daylight, I will be sending you a message.
daylight, e-mail me about your extra 0-72 switches please.

TexasSP, Scaletrax switches just went up about $20 for every size at about every place I shop over the last week. It was very poor timing to decide to get your switches. All the big MTH online dealers, Justrains, trainworld, charlesro, Jasons etc all raises their prices within a day of each other.
I did get some 0-72 off ebay $50/pair.
Good luck!
I've bought all of mine at the Stockyard Express. They have a ton of it in stock, and it's great because they are local. Perhaps they would ship to you?
I've never bought any track from Jason's, but have bought trains, even had to send one in for warranty and always had a great experience and service. Never ordered thru the online site, but always called and talked to them directly.
I will buy again from him when I need anything.

I realize I'm sounding like a dinosaur by expressing such sentiments... But WOW, what a novel way to conduct business... where we actually pick up a telephone and TALK to someone... and a REAL person, no less!!! Beats surfing the Internet and shopping anonymously at your keyboard just to save a few bucks. If you haven't done it lately -- talking to the seller, that is -- try it! You just might be surprised with the experience.
BTW, Jason's Trains is one of the best. I've pre-ordered MTH uncatalog'd items from him often, and I've been impressed with his service every time. Highly recommended.

Rocky, you are missing the point.
The issue I had was poor packaging, lack of communication, and no documentation accompanying the shipment or sent to me.
I had to call every time for status and info. Had those three items not been an issue, I would have given a good review.
You and others having good experience do not negate the fact mine was bad. I even stated that they may very well be an excellent LHS as they were friendly and helpful each time I contacted them.
In the end, I am the customer and need to be satisfied. I know my complaints were valid.
Chris;
Have you talked about it with your LHS? Mine does not stock Scaletrax but has ordered several cases of it for me. And he discounts well too. As a matter of fact I have 3 cases on order now. I order as I can afford it. I still need a half dozen more switches and some cases of sectional curves. So far I have 2 cases of curves, 1 case of 30" flex, 1 of 30" straights, 4 cases of switches. Switches are only 3 to a case so you need more cases.
David, I also prefer to deal with things in person, I have always found it to be the best way to handle anything. I have no doubt that Jasons is a great place.
TexasSP I completely understand what your saying.
Russell I did speak to my LHS about it, they are very nice about ordering things for me. I purchase what I need as I can...gives me time to use the other stuff I already ordered..... I try to go to my LHS as often as I can, sometimes I will order stuff on line but I prefer to have the face to face myself.

Guys, if you can find the switches at the "old prices" get them while you can. Prices went up everywhere. One of the nice things about scaletrax (beside the fact I think it is the best looking track) was that the switches were about 1/2 the price of ross. Not anymore though. Used to get #4 switches for about $45, not they are $65 or more everywhere!
Ya, My dealer mentioned that last month.
I still like the look of ScaleTrax to everything else and I've never seen a switch that wasn't expensive. Scaletrax switches were relatively low cost, I guess they are just getting hit with cost increases like everyone else.
I know the prices for the metal here at my work is going up like a helium balloon.
We use Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel in quantity for our sensors.
The Owner is working on a new Price Book now. It's raise prices or quit making product.
You can't sell at a loss for very long. Well, unless you are the Government, then ya just take it from others.
