It was a great issue, one of the best I have seen. Thank you. Nice review of the Bachmann engine I may get one. Explanation of Railsounds history was also good as well as Jim Policastro's article. He is indeed a master modeler.

Will subscribe for a year, I stopped due to some hard times I was having with family and health issues.

Long before I knew about or became a member of this Forum, I have been a subscriber. I personally would not want to miss an issue. I hope this latest sales campaign helps to improve your overall circulation as your success has an immediate impact in continuing this wonderful O-Gauge resource.

Sam, we used a couple of industry mailing lists and ran them against our subscriber list so only non-subscribers would get one. We sent out 10,000 of these promotional issues.

However, we think the mailing house made some mistakes with the lists. if you are already a subscriber to OGR and you got one of these free issues, please let me know by posting here.

Kerrigan, it is "...dreary old hard-copy subscribers..." like you that have made our magazine a success. Thank you very much for your support of OGR through the years!

Rich I'm on the forum nor am i a current subscriber but did not get the free offer. I'd like to subscribe and have seen references to both hard copy subs as well as digital. But when I click on the link in your first post I don't see a choice between the two. Is the link and the special offer only for the hard copy or can I get the digital? If so, how do I make the choice in the online order? Many thanks. Jerrman

If you're referring to the published "Scheduled Meets" section, I can answer that one:

First, information for Scheduled Meets listings comes from event organizers or sponsors.  If we don't receive it, it doesn't appear.

Second, the York Meet is not a public event, so really doesn't have much relevance in that section.

I don't believe the York Meet has ever been listed in Scheduled Meets, at least not as long as I've been editing and formatting those items.

Hi Ed,

Just to add to what Allan said - I switched over to postwar in the early 1980s and attended train meets far and wide. I always used the train magazine listings of meets to find new ones to attend, but had never heard of York. It had never been listed in any of the major magazines, and I've been reading them for a long time.

I first heard of the York meet from Ron Hollander's book "All Aboard."

I decided to renew my digital sub.  I kind of prefer paper.  But the digital version is much better on my iPad2 vs. my laptop.  Plus, I need to declutter the house!  Digital will help in this cause.  I can get 3 years of digital for the price of the 2 year paper sub.  Although, I won't get the free layout DVD.  Since I picked the digital over the paper sub.

 F.Y.I. - I didn't recieve the free issue.

Rich.....great idea and it should translate into several hundred new subscribers.  I got a free issue and have been a subscriber for many years so you are correct, your mailing house made some mistakes.  Those of us that are subscribers and got the free issue need to help out by either giving the extra copy to a potential new O-gauger or take it down to the local library and donate it to the magazine rack.  I am on my way now...

Rich,

Thank you,

I recently received"O Gauge Railroading Magazine," "Run 256, Apr./May 2012," in the U.S. mails.

I was not a subscriber, but I did enjoy the your publication, which is informative and presents updates, regarding model railroading and its products.

As, a result I just recently joined "O Gauge Railroading Forum" and I will become a subscriber to "O Gauge Railroading Magazine."

Respectfully,

RJL

Nope...this had nothing to do with the Digital Edition. Our mailing house didn't handle the Merger/Purge correctly and we ended up sending several hundred of these to those of you who are already subscribers. If you are a subscriber and you got one, pass it along to someone else who may enjoy it.

Perfect! Thanks, TrainPop!
