   Nice job! Maybe the front is too neat though? A couple of barrels of bent tie plates and/or spikes or some crates might be a nice touch.

Thx but it's not even on the layout yet. I am building the basic shells of buildings right now and I will probably add more details after I figure out their final locations. In any case, I was planning on piling some mismatched furniture and/or appliances and plumbing fixtures once it was planted.

Thx guys! J, it is going near the front of the layout. I pulled my car shop out to relocate it and to expand Northbrook down along the front mains. I am going to build a bunch of stuff in the shop first then work out the street layout when I think I am done. I have a TW Trainworx freight station seen in the background that will go where the car shop was. I am trying to decide if I want to put another siding in.

Outstanding Norm as usual, I too, really like the diamond plate hinge doors in the front sidewalk... I remember walking over these as a kid in NYC with my parents/grandparents....

Thx guys. As for lighting/interiors, I have a few buildings with interiors (Angel's Flight Hotel, AMW car shop, power plant and of course my roundhouse) and mild lighting effects. I have been making most of my buildings with removable roofs (with a bit of sacrifice to fully proper roof modeling) just in case I get the idea that I want to do an interior at some point.

Wow, just seeing this for the first time.  Didn't much care for the as-assembled run-down bank (or the sisters-of-mercy thrift store) but love your re-working with the front freight door!  Really makes the kit into something that works on most layouts.  Great vision!  I might have to steal that freight door idea down the line...

I want to see what is for sale in the store. 😎

Jim Stobe is buried just 3 miles from my house. Wish I would have gotten to know him before his untimely death. BTW Norm, looks good!

It was just a matter of time or carelessness. Guy could play piano and knew his trains. Ex Coast Guard too.

Stobe was amazing. In one of his videos he hopped a train wearing Crocs and managed to drag an old 10 speed bike along with him onto a flatcar. He cut his foot pretty badly and was worried about being seen riding the bike around with a bloody Croc foot, thinking it would arouse suspicion of him being a hobo. His social commentary was really interesting. Wish he was still with us.
