It has come to my knowledge that after turning this place upside-down that I cannot find my Baldwin diesel pictured here. It was in it's box and apparently is the only thing stolen of mine except my marker collection and my wife's jewelry earlier this year. I thought I had determined all that was stolen, but now I guess not. The Baldwin is gone! If anyone sees this loco somewhere in person or on ebay, please let me know ASAP. There is nothing I can do about it at this point unless somebody sees it.

Tom

Look on the bright side - you had a robbery, and are pretty certain the locomotive was stolen.  I, on the other hand, have not had a robbery, and spend a great deal of my time looking for things.  I can spend hours walking back and forth from train room to garage and back, then maybe to the airport, then wondering if I gave it away, then wondering what it was I was looking for.

Seriously - sorry about your robbery.

Know how you feel.  My wife and I have been burglarized on 3 separate occasions in 3 different homes, one of which we were in bed at the time and consider ourselves very lucky.  My business was also a victim of burglary on 4 occasions.  There are a lot of pigs in this world that think they are human.  I check in on several auction sites, I'll keep my eyes open also.

Bum

Tom, i don't think your engine will make it to Phoenix. Well, I shouldn't say that as it seems the place many bad guys go to disappear. Good thing your engine is very recognizable. Hearing they stole your wifes jewels guess the engine went ot some kid to push around the floor. But i do hope it does turn up and the bad guys lose a few fingers.Neighbors had stuff stolen with their alarm on. They smash the door in adn run to the master bath where the woman keeps her jewels. Out in 5 minutes and no time to be caught. That many thefts I would have installed a camera in a few places.

Our stolen locos from the DSMR at union station Denver back in October 2006 have never been recovered or ever shown up anywhere. Strange but a loose no box Key big boy showed on ebay with cab damage and some missing detail (same run and paint). Very strange coincidence except the loco road number was different (Changed?). The seller was helpful and rightfully so exempt from any blame; it was years after the event into 2009 and he claimed he bought it at a storage unit auction in Chicago around 2007. Who knows.

The police told us "call your insurance". No serial number no proof. Photos can be doctored and changed. Need a number like a cars VIN.

Our total loss was $14,000

Well within the realm of a felony burglary.
