One of the things l find fascinating about this hobby are railroad related structures. I have built examples of some in a quantity beyond what l can use. Most kits are bashed but some structures are scratchbuilt.Do you have favorite structures? I have built a number of grain elevators, water mills with RR loading docks (which probably not too many prototypes had), and mining mill structures. These are just a few of the structures l could become excessive with: others are RR stations, auto 1930's gas stations (there are a lot of kits for those, even in O), and steam loco servicers such as water and coaling towers. I am also a fan of country stores. Some day l am going to spread out the first three groups listed above, and post pictures. Do you have a class of favorite structures, and photos you can post?

Can't wait to see the pictures.
Well, this may happen....l shot the elevators, the water mills, and the steam service/RR structure groups....could do industry, town stores, and mining groups. Pooped out carrying buildings around, and running up and down ladder for overhead shots.
This is an interesting topic to me as I recently moved and had to take down my layout and decided to focus on structure building for awhile before I have room again for a layout. I was spending most of my interest on building structures at this point anyway.
So, I have a plan to build large vertical shelves to store and display all my structure projects as a "collection" probably staged with some of my rolling stock.
I've collected quite a few kits and have several in various stages of construction. I am always inspired by this structures and scenery group to come up with super detailed structures...

Yes, and they are on my layout as opposed to being anywhere else. I will build structures that are not going onto my layout - no room. Those generally get sold or in some rare instances, given away.
