Atlas O BNSF Dash 8

This engine does look very good in your pics. I understand your previous statement and partially agree about the realism. Comparing them, the MTH truck sideframe might actually look better to me? or, Maybe it's because most of mine are black? Pretty good for a Trainman line though.
I should get my hands on a 2 rail Atlas DC version to replace a BNSF wedge scheme that I sold off. I'd have to install PS3 for my RR. I wish I could have gone to their warehouse sale and got one of these and some more modern 2 rail cars. I admired their recent CSX trinity hopper and missed out after I sold off my older set of Atlas 3 rail versions.
How do you like their modern coil cars? I think many of their cars are very good renditions for RTR O scale. I really like their modern tank cars.
I was following your tweaks to this over the past week. Very nice. Thank you for sharing.

I very much like their coil and tank cars, except for a couple of minor issues they are the best for the money imo. This engine will pull a short corn syrup tank train. I went with ESU's loksound L decoder, and just like with my Sunset E9 adjusting the light effects was a breeze.
I do intend to weather this unit, but I'm gonna focus on my passenger cars for now
An MTH model may have more details, but more details don’t mean more accurate....
A shot like this is impossible to get with an MTH model because their truck block design produce a high water look that is simply un-upgradable.
I too have been following your progress ob this one. It came out great. Really nice work!
