Working on a 12" flat car that will have two Army tanks mounted on it this has an aluminum frame and Lionel Die Cast replacement trucks/couplers. The Viaduct bridge is a cross over-water scene (long way to go here) .

Also made a few more log cars and work flats for my logging train, see the video.

Started construction of a 45 inch long bi-level truss bridge. Not much to see right now other than some pretty colored clamps. Dados have been cut into the bottom chords and tie bars glued in. Because of the length two stiffeners were glued in (the clamps) on the bottom. They also provide extra glue surface for the tie bars.

Chugman:

I use a dense wood species called Wenge. It is naturally dark. When complete I only spray with Danish or Tung Oil to deepen the color. All deck ties are glued into dados cut in the bottom chords. Upright posts are glued to the inside chords then another chord is glued to the outside sandwiching in the posts so there are four bottom chords and four top chords. A finished truss looks like below -

This was a prototype I built for my layout but I think it was a little short. I think the top span needs to be longer.
