I had it in my head that somewhere in my scenery there had to be flagpole. People have always displayed patriotism, often times on the top of a building. The pictures show my effort to model this. The flagpole was scratched from odds & ends, the wind blown flag from online cut out carefully and glued on the pole.

Hey DjSixPack...That's awesome scenery!!!

Happy Mother's Day...to Mom's everywhere.

Thank you Flanger! I love the flagpole! Can you tell / show how you made it?

I sure can, it was pretty simple really, but depends on of you have a stash of odds and ends of course...

The pole is 6" piece of .062" dia metal rod, the round final on top is a gold bead from a broken earing (wifes), the tapered base is a metal furrule scavaged from a small paint brush and the flat base is a suitably size metal washer. The flag came from searching online, try US flag images, I found a zillion and selected one that looked actively blowing in the wind, I fiddled a little resizing it, but the online image was close as it appeared. Careful cutting and gluing with ACC gel is all it takes after you gather up the stuff to make it.

Enjoy!

Welcome DJ

With a scene like that, you will fit right in.

That's how you do a sky with depth.

Hope to see more!

(Very)busy week but I managed to do a car for myself...

Now if I had more time, I could run some trains on the layout, LOL!

Heres a pealing paint example with internal straw , common features on these old cars from back in the day...

Nick,

The backdrop was painted and the mountains/trees are scrap booking stickers from my local craft store. Once stuck to the board, I spray them with matte spray to tone down any shininess and help make it stick better.
