First I want to say thanks to Alan for starting us off every Sunday

Beautiful photo's everyone.

Here's some photo's of a water wheel I'm building for a fellow forum member, I must give thanks to Jim Policastro for helping me out with the materials and sizes for this project as well as some photo's he sent me. It's made with 1/8 inch masonite and 1/4 inch strip basswood. There will also be gear work and a motor hooked up to it.

Also I will be weathering it a bit more to give it a more rustic look

Thanks, Alex

Jim M,

Yeah, I have been putting 12 V LEDs in everything I can.  I am using 12v so at some point when I go out and get a malibu light power supply I have one less thing to deal with.  I also ordered 20 of those exterior lamp shade type fixtures (LED) that go on the outside of the buildings, they will probably be here Tuesday or Wednesday.

Thanks,

Ted

I'm not sure, we'll have to see what might fit in the space we have.  If not, I'll see what I can do about making them visible in the machine section of the roundhouse.

It's even more fun when you make all those little parts that you can't see.

I may be crazy, but I'm not insane.  I don't know how you do it.

TMack, Are you using LED's for the interiors too?

Mike, I like that structure, who makes that kit?

Contact Martin (mwb)  It's one of his kits.

Alex, great job on the water wheel.  Is that going to be part of a mill?

Vulcan,  Beautiful, is that card stock siding too?  You're incredible!

BAR #63, I like the ice-house and platform.

All the usual great work. Mike CT, the lumber yard shed looks terrific.

I finally got around to pasting up some backdrops, ballasting, planting trees and completing cliffs on one side of my layout. The scenes in the photos are 18 inches deep.

The cliffs were carved from styrofoam, the trees were from the dollar store (many had to be hand painted and sprinkled with fine turf) and the area around the plasticville switch tower has not yet been started.

Hi Jim thanks for the nice words, I'm pretty sure it is,  I'll tell the forum member that I'm doing it for to post photo's when it's all in place

Thanks, Alex

Alex

I will be happy to post photos when it is complete!

Ted, where did you get these light shades?  I thought of making some from brass

Chris D,

I get most of my electrical stuff from China, from Ebay.  Funny thing is that China Post delivers sometimes faster than stuff I buy from the east coast.  Usually 7 days and it is here.  I also got a bag of 1/48 figures that look great and are identical in size to Woodland Scenic figures.

These are the lights.  I got 20 at approx $1.15 each.  I just don't have the time to fool around trying to construct it.
