I kind of liked the "post to last year's thread" plan.
That's a very nice scene Alan.
I'm still plugging away on weathering this MTH bridge. I finally had time this week to work on the support piers. Here's the first one. I hope to have the second one finished tomorrow.
Zeke - that's a super job of weathering. I assume that is for a single track bridge? I would love to find a double-track pier that is smooth concrete, tapered as above, but lined as if it were big concrete blocks. Anybody have any suggestions?
George
Willbacker45 - thanks for posting those shots of Dean's steel mill complex.
Alan - great work.

We placed a new building this week from Bernie Winkler Genco Olive Oil We have to add some elevated structure to access the elevated siding

Now lets get over it and go back to scenery showcase! Here is few more shots of the Mohawk Valley RR project.
Now can you tell us what's different about this photo below?

Don,
The stone building is just great.
Alan Graziano
I agree Don!! Lets move on and enjoy the great work here. I have been informed of my mistake and will respect those feelings expressed above.
Thanks,
Alan
I know! I know!
Can anyone "s"ee why we thought this photo shouldn't be included in the "O"GR article even though the engine and cars are regular MTH premier products on the layout's highest level?
...or wouldn't anyone have noticed the problem.
Jim
Don and Jim,
It sure looks as if the engine isn't coupled to the passenger cars which would lead to a runaway train down hill from the water tank.
Joe

That's not it!
It's "S" gauge not "O" gauge.

A NYC Empire State express is pulling Western and Atlantic passenger cars.
The engine is a premier but the passenger cars appear to be railking.
Robert
Well, those are certainly the strangest "E"'s on the tender that I've ever seen. Sure look like "O"'s to me. BTW, click on Don's photo to see an enlarged version and you'll "see" what I'm getting at.
Poppyl
Is the trailing truck of the tender off the tracks (on the ground)?
It's "S" gauge not "O" gauge.
I agree with Joe on this one.
Jack, Strogey and Joe are all right basically.
That's the S gauge American Flyer loop. But, the scenery up there was so nice, we wanted to see an O gauge engine up there.
Since that loop is up above eye level and set back into the layout, it wasn't easy balancing an O gauge engine and cars with the front wheels resting barely on the little S gauge rails and the wheels on the far side resting on the ballast beyond the far rail.
I had to pick a camera angle that wouldn't show the "lean" of everything away from the camera.
Jim
Poppyl,
The MTH script is pretty much right on that used on the real NYC engine 999. Things were a little more elegant back then.

I never realized those old locomotives were so large! What is the driver size on that #999?
Jim;
Thanks for the picture of the real thing. No doubt that the use of the flowery lettering was meant to imply the quality of service provided.
Kudos to the photographer and set up crew for cleverly merging the "O" and the "S" in the shot. Just goes to show that reality and perception are sometimes different depending upon one's viewing position.

The train station in the town of Beawslaiw, circa 1950. The town is located somewhere between San Francisco and Los Angeles on the Southern Pacific main line. It is a rare event. Both the GS-4 and the Alco Daylights are at the station...going in opposite directions, of course. Railfanners get out your cameras!

Thanks, Pops.
I have taken lots of photos and must be careful what I post because there are some articles coming out. I try to sneak in a vignette where I can. Having fun with it. I am placing a Bluetooth speaker under the station and will pipe in Mariachi music.
How do you like my "fixed pilot" Lionel?
I "Shopped" around for that one.
Eliot
Eliot the #16 looks very cool...I also like the 2 bagage wagons and the Horse and rider
Thanks, man.
The platform in front of the station is wood planking laid piece by piece.
The ties are buried in real dirt.
The scene is very pleasing.
