Good Morning Everyone,

Maybe we will start seeing some spring weather here in the northeast soon. Here are the pictures of the completed fifth refinery module along with the others. I also included a picture of the last section. It will have a flare in addition to the knock-out drum in the picture. The flare will be a bout 24 inches tall.

Hello Everyone. I finished the 2nd build I did the signal tower.  I also will rework the 3rd building I was working on from Ameri-Towne I need practice with the FASMASK  Liquid Masking. I guess I need to add more of the Masking and then with a razor remove any extra I put down. Then today I rememberd about 18 years ago I used to build model cars when my kids wear young. I still have a few cars left after the Ex distroid a bunch of the cars. Well I guess I will Slowly build some cars also since I have a few. Including the 65 step side Hemi-hydro combo I have had for so long over 20 years now.DSC_0235DSC_0238DSC_0241DSC_0242DSC_0243DSC_0248DSC_0249DSC_0253DSC_0258DSC_0263

Tried my hand at making export crates   , had a devil of a time getting decal paper that would work   when applied to paper back ground , ended up using with clear label paper  but that was not a perfect solution either        all in all I do not think the crates look too bad        but I am an amateur  at this building stuff

Thanks to Mr. G. the showcase keeps going.

Nothing like the old days with its Hugh contributions of modelers. Unfortunately the other great modelers have been banned from the forum or moved on. I wish I could see the guy who probably completed the marine car float operation. Vulcan was always an inspiration to me as well.

Not much activity anymore, probably time to move on as well?

To Sirt and Alan all other who have and still contribute to this showcase, I would like to say thank you.  I love building layouts and running trains but I have NO artistic talent.  I can build furniture or kits for the layout but always seems to botch the finishing aspect.  The talents that those who post here are inspiring and make me want to keep trying.  I have seen some amazing talents here over the years and miss each one who no longer posts (Vulcan's structures looked just like the buildings where I grew up in Eastern North Carolina).

I hope you guys will not become disillusioned and continue to share your wonderful talents.

Happy railroading,

Don

We have definitely lost some great contributors to the OGR Forum in general, and to this weekly SSS thread in particular.

However, despite losing some members, there are undoubtedly many, many talented people remaining on the OGR Forum...and very likely new ones joining all the time.  I just don't think this sub-Forum gets the "visibility" that other sub-Forums do.

Maybe we can post a new thread over on the ever-so-popular "3-Rail" Forum in an effort to inform members about this sub-Forum (and the weekly SSS thread!!) and invite/recruit them to participate.  I wonder if the moderators would allow that?

It sure would be great to recruit some "new blood" to this sub-Forum and especially to this thread.  I would hate to see this fun (and informative) thread come to an end!

Been a while since I posted to this since I'm working more on building rolling stock and such and also most of my efforts go off to be published and I can't put that content here, but here's one that I took to Strasburg to sell this past Sat.  The roof is removable and there's a full interior; all board by board scratchbuilt.

I ran into this issue a while back. I was posting my work and basically soliciting sales without being a forum sponsor. I was contacted by OGR and when it was explained that forum sponsors are charged monthly fees to keep this forum going, and their one perk is the ability to advertise (except on the for sale forum which is set aside for private sales only), I realized what I was doing was not fair to them. So I became a forum sponsor.

Builders are not banned from posting their work. They just can't advertise the stuff for sale.
