Good Morning Everyone,

I hope everyone that attended the York show had a great time. it is an awesome place. I will start off with three buildings I am completing. I have to add a few exterior lights to each one and a little signage. Let's see what you have been working on.

Nice work this week guys.

I completed a new building on the layout.  This is a right on track Models kit, Tanner tool and die.  I made this into a version of a well known hardware store that I used to visit in Schenectady NY named Wallace Armer.  While the actual building was brick, the sign I made is a version that was on the side of their building.

It’s really great to be inspired by all of what you do!!!! We

I’m working in two areas during this week, a small coal yard and a waterfront factory.  Photos are “in progress” renditions.  Eventually I’ll post a series on the large factory environs.

Yes, I know there are no safety railings anywhere as yet.  Union officials and ambulance chasers are not permitted on my railroad, in in order to reaffirm the Darwin Principle Corollary:  “Can’t Fix Stupid.”

Don,

I can tell already this will be a winner.

Dave

Mark/PRR  and Luvin,

Thanks for the support!    The factory will

eventally be the Springfield US Army Arsenal, but I haven’t done the signs yet.    The building is two stories at the waterfront with water and street delivery ( which you can’t yet see because it’s not done😂

The upper floor is rail-served by a siding in the rear also not yet done.  Shipping /receiving is on the lower floor; manufacturing on the upper  .

There will be partial interiors in the office area as well as shipping.   The four kits both partial and completely lets were bashed and arranged to suit the need/location

I’ll try to post a few photos after removing the structure so you can see the lower area.  The factory had to fit the space which as you can see in the third photo, is fairly complex.  I tend to like customizing and kitbashing.... which becomes easier the more you make “mistakes” and learn from them😳.  The green mill building is an adaptation of an IHC Victorian house kit, doubled in length.  Also partially done, like the whole railroad... and life in general🤔

I was born & raised in Schenectady & spent the first 35 years of my life.  I have fond memories of shopping at Wallace Armer. It was an old time hardware store with everything you needed and more. Located on a busy downtown street, it had a unique air driven tube system which sent cash from sales points to a central point and returned any change & paid receipt to the sales points. Yes, the building was an urban multi-story brick structure, but I appreciate you bring back fond memories of my early life. Thank you so much.

Tony
