I recently showed a building I started awhile ago and this past Friday I finally got to assemble the walls and locate it on the TMB club layout. It now covers the entrance to our main set up yard. The base is 1/8 ply and support posts are basswood, the walls are made of foam board, the footings are resin that were cast for me by Harry Hieke, and the windows are from Tichy. The windows are all frosted so there will be no interior detailing, (but that could change). I have LED's already in place that will light the underside and tracks.

Next steps will be cementing the footings, the interior lighting which I have some flashing LED's, a roof, signage and details i.e. vents for the sides, roof and of course ballasting and detailing the tracks. Will continue posting until completed. To be continued......

The building looks great. Nice work.

I am working on a grain silo. Here are pictures of the construction and of some of the painted pieces. The silo will have a Purina logo on it. I am not sure if I will paint the piping red or give it a galvanized look.

I poured my first kit yesterday for St. Francis Church, Arroyo Grande, Ca. Today I plan

to begin assembly and write instructions as I go.

The kits should be released by the end of September.

No model building here until the winter, when I begin assembling three of Andre's CNJ switching shanty kits. I did post some photos of ordinary items that serve a dual purpose in the O scale world on the scenery forum, so I thought I'd share them here. Hopefully some of these items will be useful when I begin a project to model the CNJ Ashley yard and the Huber Breaker.

Window frames from 1/8" wire screen. Mine are for scrap load use.

Ramps from tie wraps, (zip ties)

This is a jig I made to form the guide rail.

Guide rail from aluminum coffee and iced tea seals.

Terracotta pipe from 5 gallon pail hand grips. Remove the grip, cut the ridge out from the center, and trim/fine sand the cut end and paint with red oxide primer.
