Alan, I'm not sure what it is, but you are doing your normally excellent job on it. Thanks for starting this thread each week and for sharing your fantastic work with us.
Happy New Year, Art
Started working on the MTH Passenger Station to convert it to an REA Freight House. I cut off the side platforms and roofs. Cut a large opening to add a freight door. Covered the plastic deck with wood planks and added a stone foundation. Hopefully will add mortar to the bricks this week and complete the windows.
This is a small scene near the edge of the layout. I removed a large, old school switch panel and gained some real estate.
I installed iPads all around the layout for switch operation.
I also picked up a new Lionel NW-2 yesterday. They are pretty nice!
Add some dull-cote to the pole and tar the bottom. Otherwise, perfect Dave.
Beautiful modeling!
Dave, the layout looks great ! I like the new Woodland Scenics lights. I bought a couple to try out.I noticed you have some as well. Great product.
I have an I Pad holder. Works. Yours looks a little more heavy duty. Can it be found on line ?
You don't waste much time. The NW2 is already weathered and Kadee's added. If I remember right. The offered a B&M. Which would sort of fit what I'm doing. I'm really not a diesel guy. Still was intrigued with seeing how the pilots looked already fixed on these as to how easily they adapted to Kadee's. Hopefully you will do a quick how to on the 3RS Forum. As always. Fantastic work.
Dave, looking again at your photos. At the oil distributor. It looks like an early 50's White truck with a tank mounted. Was this a custom you did ? Did a search and can't seem to find one offered.

Dave,
I could not find mounts that I liked so I welded these up the other night. They are heavy gauge steel that bolt right to the structural supports of the layout. They are solid! The pads lock in with masonite wedges. I don't have a good photo of them. I will try to snap one for you!
I love the new WS lighting system. Expensive but VERY easy to use.

Lionels come up on ebay now & then with 2 figures. Might be good candidates for add-on repaints?

Mirrors can always be added also.
I've been making slow progress on this area of my layout and now that the holidays are coming to a close I should be able to get some things done. I'm still not sure what it represents. If I could eliminate my own hobby related distractions and new projects I might have had this layout done a couple of years ago!
Joe
Joe Daddy, that has the makings of a great looking scene. All the weathering blends perfectly.
Dave and SIRT, I'll keep a look out for something to bash into an oil truck to fit my era.

I like the chain link fence was it bought or custom made?
Eric,
It is hand made.
