Good Morning Everyone,
I will start with something I constructed in the recent past. Lets see what you are working on.

Nice work Alan and Peter,
This week I'm finishing the Korber shoe factory build. I was not having much luck getting the loading dock roof to stay attached- per the instructions, so I improvised using some metal pins to secure the roof. I also added two vertical supports for good measure.
Here's lining up the roof:
I made pins out of some thin steel wire I had laying around. I sunk them ~ 1/4" into the roof supports. You can see where the previous attempts to glue the roof in place have pulled the paint off of the anchor points on the brick walls.
Adding some downspouts and details.
I added a couple Menards lighted trucks to the layout this week. The REA truck is way too bright and the headlights are the wrong color. I have some regulated power supplies on the way to dim it down. Also plan to hit the leds with Tamyia clear yellow to change the color.
The '48 Ford had to be rewired since they LED's blew out when I tested it. I also added the B&O decals to the doors.

The Atlas Wheeler Dealer is coming along just in time to be interrupted for a bathroom demo. I finally found a contractor to complete the walls, new electrical, an plumbing needs.
So I took time Friday to begin designing a sign for the Motor Sales that began in Olive Hill in 1930 by Raymond Waggoner.
As I discovered a Chevy insignia my black ink ran out in the printer. The temporary sign is taped up for looks until the bathroom is finished in a few weeks. I’m thinking on what new year Chevy models I wish to have on display. I need to locate a tall character for Mr. Waggoner was at least 6’3”.
Adding Atlas additions and elevations to Frank Bros. coal & fuel today....
Menards lighted Sinclair tanker truck and gas pump are on the way.
Don Spiro will be sending Ed Bommers 2R 2009 coal trestle in April. No need for 3 rails on sidings!
DINO lives on!
Peter,
Keep on pounding away on that building. Enjoy it.
Anthony,
Your Korbut building came out very nice. Tanks in the background is always awesome.
Bob,
The trucks look nice. You sure do have a lot of cool stuff packed into the layout.
Seth,
The car dealership is coming out very nice and the signs will be a great finishing touch.
Steve,
I love the tank and loading rack. I see a car in the background. I hope it’s a Mopar but I have my doubts.
Steve,
They look great sitting there.

I've been asked online how I got the "weathered" effect on the roof.......I figured that I would share it here, too.
It's simple, really......
1st, a thorough spraying with black Rustoleum textured paint. This gives it the grain and the base color.
2nd, an overspray of Rustoleum flat gray. This is done lightly and repeated as your personal taste desires.
