Good Morning Everyone,

I will start out with a project I just completed involving the rebuild of a sub station. I did not do the original model. I reworked the building adding a roll up door, added two transformers, New steel transmission tower and a barbed wire fence and gate.

Let's see what you have been working on.20230201_18491120230202_18213820230203_13511220230203_14264120230204_09263020230204_09263720230204_09264520230204_092836

Happy Sunday all. I made some progress on the station platform. Hung some locomotive Joe lamps, added shingles and applied the two step copper patina paint to the gutters. I try to add a cool feature to each structure and this paint fit the bill.

Will need to do some touch up gluing of a few shingles that are lifted. Other than that I’m going to look into getting a station sign laser cut to mount on the platforms end.  This was a fun way to salvage a kit missing pieces.

Good morning to Alan @Alex W and @Putnam Division

Enjoyed seeing Alan’s special designs for power.  The platform and engine house coming along very nicely…

This week I spent way too much time connecting power to lamp posts around the Railking passenger depot, OHHS high school.
Then I set into place the four Woodlands traffic signals and their power.

I’m now in the process of measuring for coverage of the depot parking and streets to cross tracks out of town…

Peter,

Your railroad has some impressive large buildings. Very nice.

MELGAR

Thank you, Mel........one of the things I am trying to do is hide my inability to create grades  and cuts......I just don't think in 3 dimensions......so, I am going to use large buildings as scenery blocks to convey the sense of distance.....

As you probably know, I grew up in the Bronx, where railroad scenery consists of the backs of buildings and their associated trash: and, glimpses of commercial areas. That is the effect that I'm going to try and create.

I love the effect you have created on your layouts. Using topography and buildings, you have created beautiful scenes of steam/diesel transition-era New England.

Peter

I've been working on my hobo boxcar scene for the past few weeks. I need to add a few more features before I finalize a video on it. My purpose here was to highlight the car itself in a static display. I added short piece of spare atlas track next to my main lines as an abandoned spur. It's wired up to a push button switch so it can be activated or turned off. The button turns on the track to activate the car sounds as well as flickering LEDs for the fire. My plan is to add a smoke unit as well for the camp fire.
