Peter,
Looks great! I'm thinking of ordering the kit, although there is no place to put it anywhere on my layouts. Looks like it was fun to build. Happy 4th...

Nice work everyone!
I put together some laser cut wooden crates last week. It was a nice straightforward kit from a company called Rail Scale Models. Tried a few different variations of color and with the top on and off.
It isn’t easy to see, but the PRR box has some Grandt Line spikes glued in.

Hey everyone, nice work as usual! Here's my little contribution this weekend:
Branch line station structure coming along. Ready to shingle.
In the spare time waiting for glue to dry on the structure, I used some scrap polystyrene to build some battery wells and flange greasers (with Lionel example at right) to add some ROW details on the layout.

Happy Independence Day! Running late this week. Thank you all for a wonderful SSS.
Alan the windows look great. Maybe Peter's pictures give you an idea for the tops of the towers.
Peter, Donald, Joe great work on your projects.
Genemed, welcome and nice job on those buildings.

TW TrainWorx.......just click on the rotating ad they have above......it's call the Cameron Freight Transfer Co.......it is an absolute blast to build!
Before you build, watch their You Tube video on building their Rock Island Frieght House kit.....it's done by Mike Reagan and is a valuable resource on how to build the kit.....

Is there airbrushing involved with your process?
Dave
Dave,
Yes. Some air brushing, some dry brushing and a little bit of powders. The prototype engine is an SD not a GP. It also has extreme paint chipping. I talked the owner out of the chipping because I think it looks like giant bird poop. Pterodactyl perhaps?

Really nice! You did a great job!
I didn't even know that Trainworx sold building kits. I thought they just built custom layouts. Wow, they have nice stuff. Their industrial background buildings fit my need. They cost a few dollars ... but so nicely done.
So, these are made out of MDF? Not, plastic? And, they go together pretty well? I'm not a super experienced model builder.
You're lucky to always have such an enthusiastic helper around.
Thanks, Jim

Ricky - do you have access to a bandsaw? With an easy to build jig you can make virtually any diameter circle with any thickness material you want.

Hello Ricky. I used 6mm MDF but 0.25” hard board works too. I am an old draftsman and laid out what I wanted with my CAD program. Then I plotted the file full size and used as a template. A decent compass and some straight edges will work too. I made the outside around 6mm proud of the silo walls.
You can cut with a jig saw or a band saw. Sand smooth. Just take your time and it will come out great. Hope that helps.
