I have tried to make the structures on my model railroads more interesting (and give myself a bit more modeling to do) by adding features to the rooftops. Here are some examples:

Ophir (Colorado) Depot – cupola (scratch-built)

Lipnick Factory - clerestory (scratch-built) and water tank (from a kit)

Jenkins Valves Factory – water tank, walkout, shed, billboard (included in kit) and sign

Long Hill Fire Department - bell tower (included in kit)

Bridgeport Tool & Die – sawtooth factory roof (scratch-built model)

I'm a little farther along in the engine houses/maintainence shed that I was on Friday.

I really love my magnets.....

Question for the group........years (probably 20-25+) ago, I read somewhere (probably Model Railroader), that before you start a new kit, you should lightly wash the parts in soapy, lukewarm water. I have always done that since......does anyone else?

Have a great and safe weekend, folks......

I read the same advice.  The purpose is to remove the mold release agent from the plastic so that both glue and paint will adhere better.  I do it before painting plastic items.  NH Joe

Just packed up the Hydrocracker unit.

This is for the retirement of an engineer at a oil company in Canada. Apparently the person I am dealing (Mimi) with has someone to do special decals. I originally showed Mimi two designs - mine and one from Alan Graz. She wanted his. If you don't tell him I won't.
