Good Morning Everyone,

I will start out with some pictures of a rock quarry I am constructing. The stone piles will go against a wall and the processing building will be placed right in front of them. I have not finished the conveyor yet. Lets see what you have been working on.20210313_07481620210313_08511620210313_09080720210313_09214120210313_14041620210313_14043120210313_16243420210313_162448

I really look forward to the weekly SSS thread...it’s one of my favorite recurring threads on the Forum.  I truly appreciate seeing the fine work from all of the contributors.  Thank you, Alan, for keeping it going!

I haven’t posted anything in the SSS thread in a few years because, well, I haven’t been working on anything scenery related.  Heck, I haven’t even weathered a freight car in 2 years!  Life’s been busy and what little spare time I’ve had for trains has been spent selling off a portion of my collection (which managed to get out of control over the years).

Last weekend I finally took a break from the sell-down and picked up where I left off 3 years ago (can’t believe it’s been that long!) building a large diorama for photographing my trains.  I will post a few photos of my progress a little later.

Starting a new project for my layout., I am taking an MTH Freight Transfer building I had repainted a while back and am adding a second story to it. I have not decided as yet whether to make the addition from wood or plastic.

MTH buildings are very easy to take apart since pieces are either screwed in or snap in.

I first trimmed a lot of the sides / top /bottom of the MTH windows but then decided to fill in the notches and replace with Grandt Line windows.

On the subject of warehouses and freight depots...two of my favorite categories...here's something i made in the past...mostly cardboard and paper...the window mullions are section of "plastic canvas" from the needlework department from Hobby Lobby...

I don't know how they are going to unload that transformer...don't see a crane...the transformer is made from two fluorescent light fixture ballasts and some cardboard sitting on a coffee stirrer and craft wood pallet...
