Steve,
The old layout looks fine. I am sure the new one will be great also.
Here are some pictures of another section of POPSRR's train shed with lighting. I have one more section to light to complete the structure.

I needed an 18" bridge high enough to accommodate my double-stacks, so I scratch-built it using basswood and styrene. I started by drawing my plan on posterboard and then cut all parts and glued together. I also used brad nails for the cross-sections for added strength. After assembling, I sprayed with Rustoleum silver and then added touches of rust.
JD what is the construction method? THEY LOOK AMAZING!!!!

Instead of helping this show case along, it seams like I killed it. ..
To answer your question .. my buildings are all made out of cheep 1/8 inch paneling with printed paper glued on.
The building is sprayed with matt finish clear to seal the paper before the windows and doors are glued in place.
