Good Morning Everyone,
I will start off with pictures of the Methane Gas Holder model I just completed. Let's see what you have been working on.

Wow!! I am excited about what you are going to create for our layout!!! Great work my friend!

Alan,
My compliments on the tank model. Outstanding!
This coal tower ordinarily resides at the rear of my 12’-by-8’ layout. I built it from a kit by Gloor Models many years ago. It is the second or third structure model that I built. Last night, I went downstairs and saw that a small bit of debris had gotten onto the layout and I had to remove the tower to get to it. This presented an opportunity to photograph the model close-up and off the layout.

Alan, I know you build models for the industry so the level of detail you use is required, however that never lessens the awe I feel when I see your talents on display.
Mel, great job on the coaling tower. The man on the ladder is a nice touch.

Melgar, great job putting together this kit. What a magnificent model with exquisite detail.
Alan:
The old gas holders (coal gas) were external telescoping tanks. This new design is an internal telescoping design? Since coal gas is history (I think.....) what's the purpose of the new gas holder tank designs?
Thanks
Joe
Jeff,Mel, Coach, Arnold,
Thank you very much.
Joe,
This design is unusual in the fact that it has two frames attached to the deck with membrane seals between them. I can only assume the old natural gas holders had more problems with the sealing connections that allowed them to telescope up and down. Also the cost of construction may be more for the old design.
