Good Morning Everyone,
I will start with a model I constructed in the past. Lets see what you have been working on.

She's a beauty Alan, I always love seeing pictures of that build. It's a shame we don't get to see pictures of it on the layout any more.
Playing around with colors and textures before I do a few Buildings Unlimited kits......
Rustoleum Rust-colored Primer
A light gray for the cinder blocks.....
Trying out Frog Tape over 3M Blue Painters Tape.....
A red for the doors and windows which I didn't like......
Maybe a green instead.......
Spackle for mortar lines on the cinder block........
Now, a green with gray sills.......
Rubbing in some DAP spackle for mortar lines......and Terra Cotta colored acrylic dry brushing on the brick…..
......and some darker gray to bring out the highlights of the cinder block......
Now, I have to think.......is this the look I want?
Have a great Sunday, folks!

Well, now that you've double painted that door, try rubbing it with 0000 steel wool. You'll take off some of the green, exposing the brown and it'll look like its peeling.

Peter, I love the step by step pictures you are sharing! Most of what you are doing is exactly the process that I use, but I always learn something or get a great idea or tip. Modifying, kit bashing, or just weathering buildings is a love of mine. It's at the point that if I have any that haven't been through that process, they will be scheduled for updating.

Great tip! This is what makes this thread so great is the sharing of ideas so we can improve our layouts and enjoyment of this hobby.
