I had said that I thought that I would stop building kits for a time and just do wiring........
Well, wiring, though essential, is BORING.
I restarted. Wiring a little......but also, building kits......
Have a great and safe Sunday, folks!
Peter
Nice work gentlemen!
Trainbros, is that a kit, a bash, or a scratchbuild?
Thanks y'all! This is a kit, called "The Dorn Mill" by Kershaw Craftsman Kits. I added a few small mods to it.
Regards,
Thought I'd check on the layout after letting it sit (ignoring it) for almost a year and took a couple of pictures.
Beautiful scenes Pete.
That's a great waterfront Pete!
Wow some great contributions this week.
Greg that mill is impressive!
I just completed a new factory for the layout- still working final placement lifting and weathering.
Missed you Pete! Great layout and pictures.

OK, I'm familiar with that company. I think the company used to be owned by Carolina Craftsman Kits but the owner sold most or all of the O Scale products to a gentleman who is an O Scaler.

Pete, are those Ross switches? What motor is that? I have the Ross witches with Z1000 motors and they look different. My real question is the little wire spring, I notice yours lay sideways. Is that what came with it or did you make them? I have the little wire springs that sit vertical and some steam engines that have particularly low hanging drive rods actually hit them! I need some flat laying springs and have been reluctant to try to build from paper clips.

Good afternoon. I appreciate the kind words about the Dorn Mill. The prototype, built around the turn of the 19 century is still standing and is now a museum in McCormick SC. I own Kershaw Craftsman Kits, LLC. I purchased the o scale kits/rights from Carolina Craftsman Kits and now produce the formerly HO kits in O scale. Trainboss89 did a great job in building this kit in just a few days. Excellent modeling skills.

@Rich883 Did you make the overhead girder plate bridge as displayed in the photos of your building on Sunday?
Thanks

Seth,
these are made by custom model railroads - a forum sponsor. The come unpainted in sections. I assembled the sections and painted. They make great stuff.
