Good Morning Everyone,
I will start off with a couple of progress pictures of a kiln. Let's see what you have been working on

The kiln is looking good, Alan! On a side note, I’ve noticed that you haven’t been posting many (or any?) photos from your awesome workshop lately. I always enjoyed seeing it...and wished I had a similar set up! Did you move? Forgive me if you mentioned this at some point...if so, I must have missed it.
Joe A,
I have a condominium that my wife and I go to on weekends. I try to do some limited work there but it is nothing like my garage at home. I will post some pictures from the old reliable shop in a couple of weeks.
Alan, nice work.
here are some items I have been working on. I updated a row of homes I had done a while ago but added a new store that I built with laser cut parts.
Added some figures to the old caboose.
begining tonreplace the mth building with a new one I am building from right on track models
Rich,
The houses look great! What did you use to weather them? I have some houses I want to weather to look un-kept and "grimy" as well.
Dave
Nice work Alan! Rich, the houses are looking good!
Andy
All looks great! The custom Georgetown station is in its final location awaiting landscaping on my customers layout. Station is 38' long. Also been working on the EBT Timber Transfer project for another customer. Hoping to have completed this week. Still a lot of cross braces and details to be added.
Nice work Richard.
Dave, these are MTH houses, I disassembled and repainted the windows and the roof along with the walls, all in flat paint. I used a wash of India ink and @alcohol for an overall grimy coating, then I had some weathering powders to add soot. Finally a spray of flat white on the roof f omabout 3 ft away to make it less black and sun bleached.
Lastly a coat of dulcote if clear flat coating.
I have nothing to contribute been working on engines lately.
Nice work everyone.
Alan, I like your work place very neat and tidy as are your models. Like your glue bottle holder a great idea for avoiding a disaster!
Thanks for posting. Roo.
Too,
Thank you. The credit for the glue holder has to go to Joe Fauty who came up with that idea.
Hi Everyone,
Here are two of my favorite Ameri-Towne buildings...the Midtown Hotel. The first version is built up per instructions except I added fire escape and the second one was kit-bashed, also with fire escape. This was my FIRST take at weathering buildings.
I have included a pic with both versions prior to detailing but you have to look real close to see the first version(on the right). I can't find another pic of that one before I gave it treatment.
I still need to illuminate the first version, add signage, and vines. I'm still not sure if I want to make this an abandoned hotel or just poorly kept one. I also will also add black construction paper or similar to the inside to mask off seeing the other side of the building when looking through it. If I decide to make the hotel a poorly kept one I will add a pic of hotel interior for the first floor.
Dave
Alan,
There's no place like home!
Dave
You got that right Dave. Nice work on the models. I am sure you got a great sense of accomplishment out of them.
Alan,
I did and as I got past one attempt and felt good it motivated me to keep experimenting and taking chances. Overall I feel good about the results.
Dave
