What is considered a best practice when using a number 6 switch at the end of a loop? Do you want the left hand to go into a 80 inch radius or a inside right hand into a 72 while the 80 inch sectional track meets the end of the switch.

This switch will be the bottom of a downgrade of both tracks. Which means angles to consider in three axis in regards to rolling stock, rigid engine driver sets and so on so forth.

I was thinking of using a short section of flex track on both of the 72 and 80 half loops towards the switch to create a easement and give the trains a chance "To settle" before hitting the switch without any S curve pressure.

I simply don't wish to move the switch to the other side of the railroad because it will interfere with that end loop and create a Double track or even... a (GASP!) Gauntlet.

It's just a simple switch issue which bothers me when I see a "Jerk" that a train makes going straight from one to another track the poor crew will snap necks. I prefer my tracks to have a chance to flow if I can steal a few inches on all ends of the thing.

What do you think?
