Good morning Switcher Saturday aficionados! This is the weekly thread were we show our appreciation for the little locomotives that do the big work of railroading. While the big units are getting serviced from the latest long haul, the little loco's sort trains and make actual deliveries, sometimes navigating tracks so tight they look like real o-27 curves.
Just such a nimble beast has arrived at the Z house! A Right of Way Industries 0-4-0 saddle tanker, in a glossy Pennsylvania scheme!
State of the art, 20 years ago😁. It's a gorgeous little machine, although it's totally conventional, and no sound package at all. ROW did offer a sound effects box car to plug in behind it, though not easy to find.
This little beast and her crew will work the tight corners and service warehouses, so that pretty shine may wear off! Despite an initial oil and grease application it still sounds a bit like a sewing, which is fine with me! I am really happy with this new addition.
Here we see a run-by and a picture along side a salvage yard, which is a natural environment for this little beast!😎
As a reminder, Switcher Saturday is open to all scales and gauges, just try to keep your post Switcher related in some way.
