It's Switcher Saturday Time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT, you should go take a look, there was some great stuff posted!

My picture and video this week is of a new addition to the SWSAT team, a Lionel Baltimore & Ohio Lionchief Plus A5 0-4-0 Steam Locomotive (6-82975).

Santa was super kind and left that one under the tree for me, I couldn't be happier!

A little critter in O gauge, a BERLIET from the twenties. Those little engines where used in industries and small railway stations to switch some cars, they where moved by a small gas motor of 30 HP and later more powerful 55 HP diesel ones. Berliet is a famous brand better known for his truck production and also some cars of high quality and keep the same look of a truck cab for his railway products.

Here is one awaiting a complete restoration.

Happy SWSat!
Great looking switcher Rich. Guess you were a good boy this year

Love to see the European take on switchers each week Daniel.

That's a nice B&O TNKMARX

My Christmas present hasn't arrived yet so here is some other switcher action on the RSJ&B from this week. Been working on a track cleaning car. First attempt went OK except that a K-line MP-15 wasn't up to the task. Nothing but old school Lionel power could do the job.

Happy Switcher Saturday everyone and Happy New Year.

I especially liked Bob's/RSJB18's Navy Yard shots, Daniel's/FRENCHTRAINS' small switcher, Brian's/BRIANSILVERMUSTANG'S Southern activity, especially the shot of the 2 crew members...along with everyone else's contributions.

Rich-Thanks for starting us off. Congrats on your new switcher.

Nice stuff everyone.

Here is my latest prewar switcher up and running after a thorough cleaning.

It still has problems so I'll need to keep working on it.

Yay! I made it! SWSat is in the “On” position. This week I am visiting family in eastern North Carolina. They brought me to see the wonderful toy train display at Belhaven NC. It was a very nice display of O scale and modern standard gauge. It was very nicely done.

I had wanted to post some New Haven images since the 31st is the 50th anniversary of the end of the line for them.

Have a great weekend and happy New Year.

Happy SWSAT everyone!!  I'm really loving everyone's photos and videos posts!  Today I have some pics of my Williams center cab Western Maryland switcher doing duty on the Free State Junction Railways Christmas Tree division.    I want to wish everyone a safe and very Happy New Year.IMG_8630IMG_8633

Wow, looks like one of those Tuckers escaped from the dealership in town!    Wouldn't you just love to see one in person riding around town?

I live a mile south of an extremely wealthy area and you'd be amazed what comes out of the garages.  Last summer at the gas station an old timer asked me for an armstrong shove to pop the clutch and head down the interstate ramp.  It was a 1923 Rolls Royce 20/25 convertible.  Sorry, I digress.

Happy New Year.

Lou N

Rich thanks for starting this post and keeping it going week after week.

Johan, every time you post pictures of Anchor your photography reveals more and more of the details you built into your wonderful model.

Andy, have fun visiting with your relatives.

Patrick, nice revision.  With"scale" size 44 tonners available now Lionel's is now a center cab!

Lou, with stories like that you may digress whenever you wish.  With Patsburg's Tucker Dealership having cornered the market on Tucker's limited production run, your's is a natural conclusion, that the gold auto is a Tucker.
